The Waterless Sands – Underscore Film music/Computer Game Music

The Waterless Sands – Film Score Music (Underscore)/In-game Computer Game Music

The waterless sands is a fusion of african percussion and stringed instruments with classic film score type string backing. The African/desert feel of this track would really suit a scene in either a Video game or Film scene in a desert/waste environment, it’s driven by 6 percussion instruments throughout with shakers, Djembe, Taiko and other African drums.

The Ngoni instrument playing in the intro to the track immediately gives an uplifting feel, continued throughout the track with a very winding harmonic progression. The instrumentation is ever varying and changing, great to keep interest if it were placed as computer game music without becoming too intense and dramatic. As a piece of film score music, this track would ideally be suited alongside sparse dialogue, with changing visual scenes, emphasizing the geography of the film scene.

The track is not overly world music however, there are the typical film score instruments, the strings, and brass sections of French horns and Trumpets to give it a bit of a traditional big film score/video game score feel.
